Skills & Expertise
I have experience working in e-commerce, education, and technology with a focus on strategic communication throughout the customer journey.
Boosting BIPOC Brilliance
A special area of focus for Kareem is to nurture youth, emerging professionals, and entrepreneurs from BIPOC and immigrant communities in Canada. He is among the North American leaders who came together to train more than 30 Black and Indigenous youth (grades 10 to 12) for a business pitch competition as part of an Advanced Digital and Professional Training (ADaPT) and Entrepreneurship co-op program delivered and developed by the Diversity Institute, Ted Rogers School of Management and Toronto Metropolitan University.
“Kareem’s interpersonal and technical skill set make him an outstanding individual to work with and I highly recommend him. He tailored the content on Search Engine Optimization, Google Analytics and Wireframing in a way that was accessible to students with varying aptitudes and exposure. Kareem built a rapport with the students, keeping them engaged throughout the program.” – Laurene Williams, Program Manager-Diversity Institute, Toronto Metropolitan University.
Kareem has also hosted a variety of sessions as a facilitator for Skills for Change’s six-week Virtual Black Youth in Entrepreneurship Program, and developed workshops for youth aged 16-29 with a focus on skills development, business planning and marketing strategies.
Under Kareem’s leadership, The Tech Effect partners with MNLCT Bridging Programs, supporting immigrant women re-skilling into IT coding professions through the C-Women Program.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Kareem finds fulfilment in volunteering. As part of his annual commitment to Junior Achievement, he volunteers as a Company Program Lead Advisor to educate young people about entrepreneurship using real-life situations and examples
